Abstract:Six novel withanolides, along with nine known related compounds were isolated from the leaves of Datura stramonium L. The structures and absolute configurations of the new withanolides were elucidated by employing various spectral techniques and comparing them with those previously reported in the literature. In addition, four withanolides demonstrated interesting cytotoxic activity on LN229 cells with IC50<20 μM.
