Cytoplasmic Budding of Human Lymphocytes Due to Ionizing Radiation

Abstract

Ionizing radiation causes statistically significant increases in the percentage of lymphocytes, both large and small, which exhibit cytoplasmic budding in Leishman-stained air-dried blood films of humans exposed to low doses. In subjects exposed to not more than ror, over so% of small lymphocytes exhibited this phenomenon.
