Cytological studies on the life-cycle in Absidia glauca Hagem (Mucorales).

Abstract: The life-cycle and nuclear conditions in Zygomycetes present still problems in spite of more than 100 years research. The process of conjugation was discovered as early as 1820 by Ehrenberg. In two papers from 1984 Dangeard and Leger made important observations on nuclear behaviour in the zygospores. Blakeslee (1904, 1906) examined different species, with the aim of establishing them as experimental material and to develop a field of fungal genetics. Unfortunately, nuclear behav iour both during formation, d… Show more

“…For microscopic characteristics, slides were prepared, stained with cotton blue and studied under compound and light (Moitic) microscope. Detailed examination was done following relevant literatures for identification of fungi (Afzal et al, 2013;Domsch, 1980;Duss and Laane, 1984;Hauser, 2006;Ho et al, 2004;Thilagam, 2018;Thathana et al, 2017, Wagner et al, 2013, Watanabe, 1937Webster and Weber, 2007).…”
