Abstract: Chromosome abnormalities, either numerical or structural, are remarkably common in humans. Many of these abnormalities are associated with infertility, pregnancy loss, and the birth of handicapped offspring. Cytogenetic approaches have been utilized in order to obtain information about the mechanisms that regulate human fertility.
