Abstract:-CYP3A4 is an important drug-metabolizing enzyme induced by various compounds causing drug-drug interactions. However, the molecular mechanism of CYP3A4 induction is not completely understood. CYP3A4 induction is caused by pregnane X receptor (PXR) through binding to some PXR binding elements. These elements comprise an everted repeat separated by six nucleotides in the promoter region and distal nuclear receptor binding element 1 (dNR-1) as well as the essential distal nuclear receptor binding element for CYP… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
