Abstract: Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) are commonly prescribed medications. The existing data suggest that individuals at a high risk of fractures have been exposed to high doses of PPIs for prolonged durations. CYP2C19 plays a pivotal role in metabolism of PPIs and thereby influences their pharmacokinetic profile.
