Cylindrical Three-Dimensional Porous Anodic Alumina Networks

Abstract: Abstract:The synthesis of a conformal three-dimensional nanostructure based on porous anodic alumina with transversal nanopores on wires is herein presented. The resulting three-dimensional network exhibits the same nanostructure as that obtained on planar geometries, but with a macroscopic cylindrical geometry. The morphological analysis of the nanostructure revealed the effects of the initial defects on the aluminum surface and the mechanical strains on the integrity of the three-dimensional network. The res… Show more

“…Latter in 2014, Martin et al 222 developed a pulsed anodization controlling-voltage procedure in which 3D nanoporous networks with longitudinal pore diameters of 45-50 nm and transversal pores of 25-30 nm diameters were synthesized in 0.3 M sulfuric acid electrolyte ( Figure 13.b and 13.c). Following this approach, these structures have been even fabricated in cylindrical aluminium wires 224 , which demonstrates the good reproducibility and consistency of the method.…”

“…(Figure 5) Finally, it is worth saying that the cylindrical nanowire geometry discussed in section 2.3, from reference [43,44], can be also combined with this 3D nano-network structure, as it has been demonstrated in [55], where a 3D nano-network structure in a cylinder was processed [55], although these have not yet been filled with magnetic material and studied.…”

“…These interconnections are perfectly aligned and form a plane of interconnections. This 3D-AAO can also be obtained in non-planar surfaces like in cylinder or wires (Resende et al, 2016). In addition, these 3D-AAO nanostructures could be considered phononic crystals, due to the periodic structures that can be produced inside the membranes.…”
