Cylindrical Cup Manufacturing Using 12 mm Thick Circular Blanks of AISI 1040 Graded Medium Carbon Steel: an Innovative Approach

Abstract: In this paper processing effects were studied while 12 mm thick circular blanks of hardened-tempered AISI 1 040 graded medium carbon steel, applied in cylindrical cup manufacturing by a new modified processing route as an innovative approach. The processing route mainly consisted of pre-forming of flat blanks to a little draw in shape, followed by multistage drawing without blank-holder.
