“…The mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signal transduction pathway transfers signals from the cell surface to the cell interior for the regulation of cell growth and death. Cell fate is tightly regulated by the MAPK signaling pathway under various stressed conditions such as endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, hypoxia, and inflammation (Du et al, 2015;Farrukh et al, 2015). ERK, JNK, and p38 are three MAPK subgroups activated in response to ER stress (Darling and Cook, 2014).…”

“…Bioinformatics analysis indicated 154 predicted open reading frames (ORFs) in the genome of CyHV-2, but the functions of most genes are unknown ( 2 ). A previous study demonstrated that ORF104 of CyHV-2 encodes a protein kinase, which can activate the p38-MAPK signaling pathway during CyHV-2 infection, and inhibiting this pathway could reduce the lethality of CyHV-2 ( 8 ). Although some progress has been made in the study of CyHV-2, the mechanism of interaction between CyHV-2 and crucian carp is still unclear.…”

“…Recombinant truncated membrane protein ORF25 was found to have certain immune protective effect against virus infection and was developed as a potential vaccine (Yuan et al, 2020; Zhou et al, 2015). ORF104 was found that can activate p38 mark pathway to help the virus invade cells, so it can prevent infection by blocking ORF104 and preventing p38 mark activation (Du et al, 2015). Moreover, recombinant membrane proteins of CyHV‐2 ORF25, ORF25C, ORF25D, ORF30, ORF124, ORF131, ORF136, ORF142a and ORF146 were expressed and neutralizing in vivo and the result showed that tORF25, tORF25C and tORF146 had better immunize protective effect against CyHV‐2 infection in crucian carp (Cao et al, 2019).…”
