Abstract

Cyclophosphamide/dactinomycin/vincristine Lack of efficacy: case reportA 24-year-old woman exhibited lack of efficacy during chemotherapy with cyclophosphamide, dactinomycin and vincristine for embryonic cervical rhabdomyosarcoma.The woman was hospitalised due to twitching and severe unresponsiveness in October 2019. Subsequent analyses confirmed embryonic cervical rhabdomyosarcoma complicated by uterine inversion, for which she underwent gynaecological treatment in November 2019. Two months post discharge, in January 2020, she experienced a relapse of symptoms. Hence, she was hospitalised for further management. She started receiving adjuvant chemotherapy with IV infusion of cyclophosphamide [Cytoxan] 0.4mg on days 2-6, dactinomycin [Actinomycin-D] 0.4mg on days 2-6 and vincristine 2mg on day 1. However, in spite of chemotherapy, her disease rapidly progressed-the size of the vaginal mass increased, and para-aortic lymph node and lung metastases became evident during the second session of chemotherapy, indicating lack of efficacy. Thereafter, she refused further chemotherapy, and she was discharged. Later, 2 months post discharge from hospital, she died due to unspecified complications.Meng L, et al.
