The campaign strategy was carried out to win the Regional Head Election simultaneously in 171 regions (17 Provinces, 39 Cities and 115 Regencies). this research is entitled Campaign Strategy for the Election of Regional Heads in the Political Communication Perspectives. Political campaign strategies for regional head elections are needed to maintain their existence. The success of the political campaign strategy that is compiled and implemented needs to be done, so that candidates, political parties, successful teams, and supporters try to develop and implement well-designed strategies. The specific purpose of this study is to find out, analyze, and discuss the Election Strategy of the Election Commission in the Political Communication Perspective. This study uses qualitative methods through a case study approach The results showed that the campaign strategy carried out by the leader of the winning team Rudi-Helmi used four stages, namely: First stage, popularity. Incumbent compared to other prospective contestants is more popular with the strength that has been known by the people of Garut for at least the past five years. The second stage is acceptability. Incumbents as state officials are more accepted by the people formally or informally by the people of Garut. The third stage, probability. Incumbents can estimate voters by sorting out old voters, tendency to vote, and attract sympathy for millennial voters. The fourth stage, vote gate. Vote is mainly directed at non-formal segments that are not directly related to the formal duties of incumbents as leaders of the Garut area.

Purpose Although information technology has been at the centre of attention of political branding for some time, research has traditionally focused mainly on its role in the facilitation of communication. This paper aims to unpack the role of information technology in the emergence of new cyber political brands. Design/methodology/approach This research uses a dual case study approach that focuses on the relationship between branding, politics and information technology. The analysis focuses on two successful political cyber brands: the Italian Five Star Movement and the Czech Pirate Party. Data collection covering the time frame between their emergence and their political success occurs through netnographic methods. Findings Cyber political brands emerge and materialize in different forms. The present analysis allows for a delineation of three conceptual elements that characterize the constitutive interrelationship of information technology in the emergence of cyber political brands. The first conceptual element, organization, refers to how political brands become structured around linked activities. The second conceptual element, orientation, describes how the activities of a political brand are directed to build a specific path and legitimize courses of action. The third conceptual element, operation, delineates the processes that anchor and stabilize the political brands in its “own” culture, establishing specific base activities. Research limitations/implications Information technology and the techno-culture emerging around the two cyber party brands can be seen as the possible delineations of new “cleavages” in the form of “information technology-culture” which enables potential electoral success. Originality/value The present study by offering the conceptualization of the cyber political brand shows how political brands can reflect a type of performative cultural branding where they become able, as a networked-medium, to assemble a specific techno-culture. In terms of political brand development, the current analysis offers a framework that allows us to consider the process of political party development in a new fashion.

This essay reviews work produced in predominantly US cultural anthropology publications throughout 2017. It asks: What makes an anthropological inquiry timely, what sorts of relationalities command anthropological attention, and to what end? Noting our ongoing methodological commitment to long-term ethnography alongside increasingly important online forums for reaching broader publics and responding quickly to emerging issues, it expands the range of work surveyed to include some online-only short essays alongside the larger collection of traditionally published research articles. Characterized by empathic inquiry, frequently drawing on years of ethnographic and personal experience with the places, people, and other entities that we write about, and often attentive to histories at multiple scales, cultural anthropology of this moment, however published, grapples with dark times while it also offers ways of imagining other, better futures and ways of being in relation to others. Two thematic clusters organize this essay: the first considers temporality alongside mobility and sovereignty, and the second considers relationality alongside subjectivity and mediation. Together, all of these concerns-that are both of the moment and long standing-build a varied body of work that grapples with the interrelationalities that constitute power, place, and possibility. I argue that what makes an anthropological inquiry timely is the extent to which it is relationally informed and attuned to care for worlds that we inhabit and imagine, together. Notando nuestro compromiso metodológico continuo con una etnografía de largo plazo junto a foros en línea cada vez más importantes para llegar a públicos más amplios y respondiendo rápidamente a cuestiones emergentes, expande el rango del trabajo evaluado para incluir algunos ensayos cortos sólo en línea junto a la mayor colección de artículos de investigación publicados tradicionalmente.
