UASs form a large part of the fighting ability of the advanced military forces. In particular, these systems that carry confidential information are subject to security attacks. Accordingly, an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) has been proposed in the proposed design to protect against the security problems using the human immune system (HIS). The IDSs are used to detect and respond to attempts to compromise the target system. Since the UASs operate in the real world, the testing and validation of these systems with a variety of sensors is confronted with problems. This design is inspired by HIS. In the mapping, insecure signals are equivalent to an antigen that are detected by antibody-based training patterns and removed from the operation cycle. Among the main uses of the proposed design are the quick detection of intrusive signals and quarantining their activity. Moreover, SUAS-HIS method is evaluated here via extensive simulations carried out in NS-3 environment. The simulation results indicate that the UAS network performance metrics are improved in terms of false positive rate, false negative rate, detection rate, and packet delivery rate. detection methods to track and to eliminate. In specific, to increase the chance of successfully intercepting a ballistic missile, it is essential to have swift detection and tracking system, capable of detecting and tracking the missile right after it is launched. The designers working on ballistic missile defense networks are aiming the system to be capable of intercepting the missiles during their initial 2 to 5 minutes of flight, which is called the boost phase. During the boost phase, if the trajectory of the missile is directly away from the trajectory of the UAV, it will easily recede from the range of the sensors on the UAV. Hence, the routing of the information used in the network of the sensors of the ballistic missile should be addressed using networks of hybrid wireless sensors capable of complying with high availability and requirements mandated due to security. To demonstrate the UAVs' applications that have an innate time sensitivity, and to signify the urgency of providing security in communication channels, this case is discussed in the following paper [2,3]. However, despite the advantage's UAVs provide through various applications, since there are situations where no pilot monitors the activities, they are potentially vulnerable against cyber threats. This intensifies the emergence to design secure and reliable UASs and overcome the challenges to avoid damage and destruction to other systems as well as human lives [2,3].A number of attacks, such as Wormhole (WH), Black hole (BH), Gray hole (GH), and Fake Information Dissemination (FID), illegally penetrate the system. UAVNs (unmanned aerial vehicle networks) may become vulnerable to threats and attacks due to their characteristic features such as highly dynamic network topology, open-air wireless environments, and high mobility. Since previous work has focused on classical and metaheuristicbased approaches, none of these approaches have a self-adaptive approach. In this paper, the challenges and weaknesses of previous methods are examined in the form of a table. Furthermore, we propose an agent-based self-protective method (ASP-UAVN) for UAVNs that is based on the Human Immune System (HIS). In ASP-UAS, the safest route from the source UAV to the destination UAV is chosen according to a self-protective system. In this method, a multi-agent system using an Artificial Immune System (AIS) is employed to detect the attacking UAV and choose the safest route. In the proposed ASP-UAVN, the route request packet (RREQ) is initially transmitted from the source UAV to the destination UAV to detect the existing routes. Then, once the route reply packet (RREP) is received, a self-protective method using agents and the knowledge base is employed to choose the safest route and detect the attacking UAVs. The proposed ASP-UAVN has been validated and evaluated in two ways: simulation and theoretical analysis. The results of simulation evaluation and theory analysis showed that the ASP-UAS increases the Packet Delivery Rate (PDR) by more than 17.4, 20.8, and 25.91%, and detection rate by more than 17.2, 23.1, and 29.3%, and decreases the Packet Loss Rate (PLR) by more than 14.4, 16.8, and 20.21%, the false-positive and false-negative rate by more than 16.5, 25.3, and 31.21% those of SUAS-HIS, SFA and BRUIDS methods, respectively.An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is, in fact, an aircraft flying with no human pilot on board. Instead, an operator or the on-board computer systems control autonomously its flight either remotely. By developments in computing, device miniaturization and communication, other flying objects including quadcopters, gliders, and balloons could be also included in UAVs. Historically, military operations utilized in missions imposing high-risk levels to human pilots. However, more applications were recently found in civilian domains for UAVs. They involve rescue and search operations, inspection, and policing [1,2, and 3]. Figure 1 and 2 shows two examples of Civil applications. The setup involves multiple components and numerous links to communication. The task of each link is to transmit certain kinds of information and data. Generally, based on the kind of transmitted information, 3 various types of links should exist in these networks, i.e. radio communication, Satellite link, and U2U. A tremendous amount of content and information are exchanging in a vehicular environment between vehicles, roadside units, and the Internet. This information aims to improve the driving experience and human safety. Due to the VANET’s properties and application characteristics, the security becomes an essential aspect and a more challenging task. On the contrary, named data networking has been proposed as a future Internet architecture that may improve the network performance, enhance content access and dissemination, and decrease the communication delay. NDN uses a clean design based on content names and Interest-Data exchange model. In this paper, we focus on the vehicular named data networking environment, targeting the security attacks and privacy issues. We present a state of the art of existing VANET attacks and how NDN can deal with them. We classified these attacks based on the NDN perspective. Furthermore, we define various challenges and issues faced by NDN-based VANET and highlight future research directions that should be addressed by the research community.
