Cyanation of Aryl and Heteroaryl Aldehydes Using In‐Situ‐Synthesized Ag Nanoparticles in Crocus sativus L. Extract

Abstract: An efficient, inexpensive and simple methodology has been reported for the cyanation of aryl and heteroaryl aldehydes using in situ synthesized silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) with the use of Crocus sativus L. aqueous extract as a reducing and stabilizing biomedia. Furthermore, stable and cheap silver precursor (AgNO 3 ) along with the non-toxic, efficient and inexpensive cyanide source K 4 [Fe(CN) 6 ] are used for this reaction. This system provides an alternative protocol to the existing methods for the synthe… Show more

“…As seen in the green synthesis, XRD model, Ag NPs with facecentered cubic (fcc) structure were obtained. The resulting graphic was similar to the literature ( Sajadi et al, 2019 ). In a study, according to XRD analysis measurements of silver nanoparticles synthesized using Tagetes Erecta plant, Bragg’s four diffraction peaks corresponding to (111), (200), (220) and 311) planes at 38.11°, 44.27°, 64.42° and 77.47° angles.…”

“…exceed the antioxidant activity of α-tocopherol. This also agrees with Sajadi's et al (2019) [29] statement that they add antioxidant value to the sugar moiety. Also, Mohaqiq et al…”

“…Recently, S. M. Sajadi and co‐workers have reported the green synthesis of metal nanocomposite catalysts using plant extract and iron ore and used it for the reduction of nitro compounds, degradation of organic dyes and removal aromatic hydrocarbons . They have also reported the biosynthesis Ag and Pd with excellent catalytic activity for cyanation and tetrazole formation from aryl halide . The Pt TPs were synthesized by injecting Pt 2+ ions into an aqueous solution of AA, KBr and KCl at 80 °C, where AA reduces Pt 2+ , Br − and Cl − ions serve as capping/structure directing agents and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) acts as stabilizer (SI).…”
