“…Rapidly growing mycobacteria, including MABC, are the most important NTM pathogens of skin and soft tissue infections (Kothavade et al, 2013;Lin et al, 2014); however, many previous studies regarding MABC skin and soft tissue infections have not differentiated between M. abscessus and M. massiliense (Chen et al, 2011;Mudedla et al, 2015). Recently, postsurgical and post-procedure outbreaks of skin and soft tissue infection caused by M. abscessus or M. massiliense have occurred in several countries (Cheng et al, 2013;Leão et al, 2010;Kim et al, 2007;Song et al, 2012;Koh et al, 2010); patients with such MABC infections usually recover well after several months of oral antibiotics, including a macrolide and fluoroquinolone, with or without initial intravenous antibiotics (Song et al, 2012;Choi et al, 2011;Jung et al, 2014).…”
