“…A recent survey study of orthopaedic surgeons shows that age remains a significant factor in surgical decision making for long head of the biceps tendon pathology among members of the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery, and Arthroscopy. 13 Despite minimal evidence, consensus has emerged that tenotomy might be appropriate for patients over the age of 55 years on the basis that tenodesis requires increased surgical time and slower pain relief. However, our data suggest that age is not a significant factor in predicting which procedure patients might prefer.…”

Given this extremely low occurrence rate, the use of DVT prophylaxis after rotator cuff repair may not be an issue with much clinical relevance.…”

“…3,4 Repair of the anteroinferior capsulolabral disruption associated with anterior shoulder dislocations is the standard treatment for this pathology. [5][6][7][8] Arthroscopic treatment offers the advantage of a minimally invasive approach with less soft-tissue scarring, restriction in motion, and subscapularis failure. 4,[9][10][11] A detrimental intraoperative complication is inadequate anchor positioning.…”
