In the present investigation, an attempt has been made to congregate the phytochemical studies done on intervarietal F1 hybrids of soybean (Glycine max L.) along with their parents. The eleven F1 hybrids were obtained by intervarietal crossing done using five varieties of soybean viz Bragg(BG), NRC7(NR), Punjab1(PN), PUSA98-14(PU) and JS9560(JS).Estimation of phenols was done by FCR Method using Gallic acid as standard. The total phenolic content was found highest in the cross JSXNR and lowest in BGXNR. Total tannin content was determined using FCR method. Total tannin content was highest in NRXJS and least in BGXPN. In addition, total flavonoids were determined using Alcl3 reagent and antioxidant activity by DPPH method. Total flavonoids was found maximum in PNXNR and least in PUXPN respectively. Highest Antioxidant Activity was 50.31% in JSXPN and lowest was 39.08% in NRXJS. The results suggested that besides protein and oil contents, the phenolic contents should also be considered as an important characteristic feature of soybean seeds, and as a potential selection criterion for antioxidant activity in soybean.

Isolation and characterization of glucocorticoid steroid was carried out on the leaf of Rauvolfia vomitoria. Initial phytochemical screening of the sample revealed the presence of saponins, flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, steroids, triterpenoids and cardiac glycoside and were quantitatively determined as follows; saponins (2.37 ± 1.09), tannins (0.09 ± 0.01), alkaloids (0.82 ± 1.05), and flavonoids (0.82 ± 0.05). Isolation of the compound was carried out with the aid of column chromatography and isolate subjected to thin layer chromatography. Sample was subjected to spectroscopic analysis with the aid of FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and HSQC. The structure of compound was determined as Cis-3-(2,2-dimethyl-26-(((2S,3R,4S,5R,6R)-2,3,4-trihydroxy-5-(hydroxymethyl)tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl)oxy)butan-2-yl)-8-methoxy-15-(S)-3-methoxy-4,4- dimethylpentyl)-14-(3-methoxy-4,4-dimethylpent-1-yn-1-yl)-1,2,3,4,11,12,13,14,15,15a- octahydrophenanthro [2,1-b]furan-16(10H)-one with a molecular formulae of C44H68O11. A glucocorticoid steroid.

Herbal medicine is one of humanity's oldest professions, and herbal medicine's therapeutic efficacy has been recognised since the dawn of time. In many parts of India, herbal treatments have been found to be effective in the treatment of malaria, diarrhoea, jaundice, diabetes, cough, fever, snakebite, miscarriages, and gonorrhoea. Curcuma caesia is a perennial herb with bluish-black rhizomes that is native to Northeast and Central India. In antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and human tumour cell proliferation, inhibitory effects of the rhizomes of indigenous Curcuma caesia were investigated in this work. According to Research, Inc., the global curcumin market was worth USD 46.6 million, with North America being the largest regional market and India being one of the largest curcumin producers. With a revenue-based compound yearly growth rate (CAGR) of 14.8% throughout the projection period, Europe is predicted to be the fastest-growing region, with the global market. Because of expanding scientific talent and a large network of biotechnology and food chemistry applications, curcumin quality and quantity are projected to improve in the future. The study emphasizes the importance of using the bioactive components of curcuma caesia in nanotechnology, liposomes, niosomes, micelles, and cyclodextrin.
