The requirements writers need to succeed in second language writing are demanding. Studies in this field are mostly on how second language writers could overcome writing hurdles, including writing and self-regulated strategies. Through previous literature, thematic data analyses, and cross-tabulation, this study aimed to inspect participants' writing strategy use and their perception of how these strategies affect their writing. These results showed that the participants expressed low self-efficacy based on their preference to use non-self-regulated than self-regulated strategies. The analysis also indicated a need for second language writers to write accurately due to writing anxiety. Additionally, the findings showed the need for self-regulated strategy-based instruction for second language writing.

The reciprocal relationship between humans and nature is determined based on their respective natures. This mutualism symbiosis is based on a relationship of use for mutual prosperity. Living together with nature means living in cooperation, mutual help and tolerance. The whole relationship becomes an inseparable entity; all things are interrelated and functional and have the same goal of protecting and preserving nature. Protecting the environment is key to the survival of fragile ecosystems, wildlife, and even humankind. However, the endless human needs often make humans act excessively, exploiting the environment as much as possible to meet the needs of life, resulting in severe environmental damage. This is the rationale for raising the theme of environmental conservation through literary media by referring to the concept and theory of eco-literature. The whole research is conducted using a qualitative descriptive method that focuses on content analysis, revealing the concept of nature conservation. The data sources are obtained from literary works randomly taken: Lines Written in Early Spring, a poem by William Wordsworth, Ode to Nightingale, a poem by John Keats, Nature, an essay by Ralph Waldo Emerson and An Enemy of the People, a drama by Henrik Ibsen. The results show that all the literary works chosen stand as the representative of literature on environmental conservation and literary works are sure to become an appropriate medium to teach and awaken people’s consciousness of the importance of nature conservation.

Problems with meaning arise when symbols interact in digital communication on social media between users. Different messages may be interpreted differently due to symbolic exchanges between social media users. This paper examines how message meaning relates to current social media challenges. The data used to address the issue was obtained from an online survey of social media users, and the semiotics method was employed (denotation and connotation). This study concludes that people who utilize social media have a higher propensity to read the news and become more authentic by sharing it. To read social media text messages denotatively has ideological consequences for users and connotative implications. Social media messaging's ideological impact creates the purpose of action (change of view on an issue, for example, COVID-19 vaccination). This paper contributes to digital media literacy, which develops critical thinking abilities based on digital knowledge by choosing to read news content. Besides, this paper contributes to the capacity to critically create content based on digital culture (positive news content) and offer critical commentary based on digital ethics (politeness in providing language). This article discusses the benefits and importance of news content comments and the ability to share news content critically based on digital safety by safely evaluating information before sharing it.
