Cultural Innovations Influence Patterns of Genetic Diversity in Northwestern Amazonia

Abstract: Human populations often exhibit contrasting patterns of genetic diversity in the mtDNA and the nonrecombining portion of the Y-chromosome (NRY), which reflect sex-specific cultural behaviors and population histories.
