Infrared thermography is a non-invasive and non-contact technique that provides surface temperature distribution by measuring infrared radiation emitted by a body. The instrument that can determine the surface temperature of the object indicated is the thermal-camera. Nowadays, the use of thermal imaging is increasingly widespread and its application fi elds are numerous, especially in the construction environment. In this way, using a modern thermal-camera, it has showed in this paper the high performance of temperature map generated by these instruments. The integration of thermal camera with optical sensors allows to obtain, by a suitable methodology, a high quality of thermal image. Indeed, taking in account large building, it is impossible to cover the whole building and at the same time acquire with a high geometric resolution in relation to the modern thermal camera. In order to identify anomalies temperature on large and modern structure, a case study of the use of thermal images building is showed in the manuscript. Indeed, the knowledge of temperature distribution on the facade of the building provides very useful information to discover many hidden conditions related to the building performance, maintenance and energy effi cient. Because the construction fi eld accounts for 40% of energy demand in Europe, the use of thermal images in this environment provides an important contribute in the analyses process of temperature archived on the buildings.

The documentation and information representation of heritage sites is rapidly evolving. With the advancements in remote sensing technology, increasingly more heritage projects look to integrate innovative sensor data into their workflows. Along with it, more complex analyses have become available which require highly detailed inputs. However, there is a gap in the current body of knowledge of how to transfer the outputs from innovative data acquisition workflows to a set of useful deliverables that can be used for analysis. In addition, current procedures are often restricted by proprietary software or require field specific knowledge. As a result, more data are being generated in heritage projects but the tools to process them are lacking. In this work, we focus on methods that convert the raw information from the data acquisition to a set of realistic data representations of heritage objects. The goal is to present the industry with a series of practical solutions that integrate innovative technologies but still closely relate to the current heritage documentation workflows. An extensive literature study was performed discussing the different methods along with their advantages and opportunities. In the practical study, four deliverables were defined: the use of orthomosaics, web-based viewers, watertight mesh geometry and content for serious games. Each section is provided with a detailed overview of the process and realistic test cases that heritage experts can use as a basis for their own applications. The implementations are applicable to any project and provide the necessary information to update existing documentation workflows. Overall, the ideology is to increase the access to innovative technologies, better communicate the data to the different stakeholders and improve the overall usefulness of the information.

<p><strong>Abstract.</strong> The purpose of this paper is to identify an approach able to estimate the uncertainty related to the measure of terrain volume generated after a landslide. The survey of the area interested of landslide can be performed by Photogrammetry &amp; Remote Sensing (PaRS) techniques. Indeed, depending on the method and technology used for the survey, a different level of accuracy is achievable. The estimate of the quantity of the terrain implicated in the landslide influences the type of geological and geotechnical approach, the civil engineering project on the area and of consequence, the costs to sustain for a community. According to the experiences and recommendations reported in the ASPRS guidelines, an example of the approach used to estimate volumetric accuracy concerning one of the most important landslide in Europe is shown in this paper. In this case study, the dataset is constituted by a Digital Elevation Model (DEM) obtained by photogrammetric (stereo-images) method (pre-landslide) and another by Airborne Laser Scanner (after-landslide). By the comparisons of Airborne Laser Scanner (ALS) and photogrammetry DEMs obtained from successive surveys, it has been possible to produce maps of differences and of consequence, to calculate the volume of the terrain (eroded or accumulated). In order to calculate the uncertainty of volume, a procedure that takes in account even the different accuracy achievable in the vegetation area is explained and discussed.</p>
