“…(ii) The Heyen (1981) and Kubic (1982) equations yield very poor prediction of vapor pressures. (iii) The cubic chain-of-rotators equation, CCOR, developed by Lin et al (1983), has a good accuracy of liquid volumes, but it is less accurate than RKS and PR in saturation pressures and vapor volumes. In terms of the overall average deviations, the PT equation with two component-dependent parameters is the best, and the second is the ALS equation.…”

“…Duan and J. Hu is one of the advantages of the cubic equations. In most of the cubic equations for mixtures, the co-volume of a mixture is almost always a linear function of composition, e.g., Soave (1972); Peng and Robinson (1976); Patel and Teja (1982), and few equations use the quadratic combination, e.g., Lin et al (1983). In this study, we tried both of the two forms and found that the quadratic form was essentially impractical because of the frequent overflow in calculations, while the linear form is very reliable.…”

“…modified R-K equation correlates accurately these new H E data. The Peng-Robinson [1] and the cubic chain-of-rotators [2] equations of state were also utilized to correlate the experimental H E data. The van der Waals one-fluid mixing rules were adopted in the calculations.…”

“…No literature data are found for these systems at comparable conditions. The modified Redlich-Kister equation, the Peng-Robinson [1] (PR) and the cubic chain-of-rotators [2] (CCOR) equations of state, the NRTL [3] and the Wilson [4] models were utilized to correlate the experimental H E data. Two versions of the UNIFAC model [5,6] were also applied to predict the excess molar enthalpies for these investigated systems.…”

“…Several EOSs based on perturbed hard-sphere EOSs have been proposed (Carnahan and Starling, 1969;Nakamura et al, 1976;Lin et al, 1983;Chung et al, 1984;Guo et al, 1985;Bryan and Prausnitz, 1987;Mulia and Yesavage, 1989). Shah (1992) and Shah et al (1994) developed a four-parameter perturbed hard-sphere EOS which is a generalized quartic EOS, by combining a repulsive term, fitted to the molecular dynamics data of Alder and Wainwright (1960), with an empirical attractive term.…”
