CuBi2O4 Synthesis, Characterization, and Application in Sensitive Amperometric/Voltammetric Detection of Amoxicillin in Aqueous Solutions

Abstract: CuBi2O4 synthesized by thermolysis of a new Bi(III)-Cu(II) oxalate coordination compound, namely Bi2Cu(C2O4)4·0.25H2O, was tested through its integration within carbon nanofiber paste electrode, namely CuBi/carbon nanofiber (CNF), for the electrochemical detection of amoxicillin (AMX) in the aqueous solution. Thermal analysis and IR spectroscopy were used to characterize a CuBi2O4 precursor to optimize the synthesis conditions. The copper bismuth oxide obtained after a heating treatment of the precursor at 700… Show more

“…When the main advantages of carbon paste electrode related to easily renewable and modified surface is taken into account, as well as its low cost, the obtaining of nanostructured carbon paste electrode is facile for its further modification in developing the electrochemical detection of DCF [ 28 , 37 , 38 , 39 ]. In fact, the paste composition of the electrode is very easily further modified by simple mixing of carbon with certain oils and modifying component without any template or matrix development.…”

“…This Special Issue also includes the study of Dumitru et al [ 11 ] on Bi 2 Cu(C 2 O 4 ) 4 ·0.25H 2 O synthesis by thermolysis, followed by its integration within a CuBi/carbon nanofiber (CNF) paste electrode and its application in the electrochemical detection of amoxicillin (AMX) in aqueous solution. The obtained results indicated the potential use of a CuBi/CNF paste electrode for AMX detection in aqueous solutions.…”
