CU-BEMS, smart building electricity consumption and indoor environmental sensor datasets

Abstract: this paper describes the release of the detailed building operation data, including electricity consumption and indoor environmental measurements, of the seven-story 11,700-m 2 office building located in Bangkok, thailand. the electricity consumption data (kW) are that of individual air conditioning units, lighting, and plug loads in each of the 33 zones of the building. The indoor environmental sensor data comprise temperature (°C), relative humidity (%), and ambient light (lux) measurements of the same zones… Show more

“…Further, this dataset was considered and used in various literary works. The Tracebase dataset was used in the extensive study of different non-intrusive load monitoring (NILM) power consumption datasets described in [ 35 , 36 , 37 ]. The present and the future directions for energy management techniques using NILM datasets are discussed in [ 38 ].…”

“…Furthermore, while a number of datasets contain sub-metered energy demand for heating, cooling and ventilation in buildings, they seldom contain any information on indoor environment quality indicators such as temperature, humidity, air quality etc. An exception to this is the CU-BEMS dataset [46], which contains electricity demand data in a seven-story 11,700-m2 office building located in Bangkok, Thailand. The data provides measurements Finally, in many cases, energy demand for larger aggregations, such as districts or states are openly available as time series which may be useful to understand the local context for LEC developers.…”

“…However, it doesn’t provide more granular information about the system and thermal zones. CU-BEMS provides system-level sub-metering of electricity consumptions, and zone-level indoor environmental measurements 14 . But it doesn’t contain system-level operation data and data only spans for over a year.…”
