“…For instance, in the famous borosilicate UV NLO crystal Cs 2 B 4 SiO 9 , 32 owing to the synergetic combination of rigid SiO 4 and distorted BO 4 tetrahedra, a large SHG response (4.6 × KDP) was achieved. Subsequently, other novel borosilicate UV NLO crystals have been unearthed, such as Ba 4 (BO 3 ) 3 (SiO 4 )·Ba 3 X (X = Cl, Br) (1 × KDP), 40 CsSiB 3 O 7 (0.8 × KDP), 41 and LaBSiO 5 (1.1 × KDP). 42 Furthermore, owing to the corporative effect of the anionic and cationic polyhedral units in Ba 4 Bi 2 (Si 8− x B 4+ x O 29 ) ( x = 0.09), 33 the largest SHG response (5.1 × KDP) among the known borosilicates was achieved.…”

“…From then on, some remarkable short‐wave NLO materials based on phosphates, silicates, fluorooxoborate and fluorophosphates have been synthesized. The represent examples include phosphates such as A La(PO 3 ) 4 ( A = K, Cs), RbBa 2 (PO 3 ) 5 , Li A 2 PO 4 ( A = Rb, Cs), A 4 Mg 4 (P 2 O 7 ) 3 ( A = K, Rb), A NaMgP 2 O 7 ( A = Rb, Cs), and Ba 2 NaClP 2 O 7 ; silicates such as Cs 2 B 4 SiO 9 and CsSiB 3 O 7 ; fluorooxoborate such as A B 4 O 6 F ( A = Na, Cs, NH 4 ) and M 2 B 10 O 14 F 6 ( M = Ca, Sr); fluorophosphates such as Na(NH 4 )PO 3 F · H 2 O and (NH 4 ) 2 PO 3 F . Due to the easy synthesis route, some short‐wave UV NLO sulfates, such as A SbF 2 SO 4 ( A = Rb, Cs), (NH 4 ) 2 Na 3 Li 9 (SO 4 ) 7 , (NH 4 )NaLi 2 (SO 4 ) 2 , and Li 8 NaRb 3 (SO 4 ) 6 · 2H 2 O, were prepared using the aqueous or ionic solution method.…”
