The crystal structures of Lys49-PLA 2 s from several snake venoms have been solved in both the dimeric (12,15,16,38,39) and monomeric (11,41,42) forms. Analysis of the crystal structures of dimeric Lys49-PLA 2 s reveals a pattern of reciprocal intermolecular interactions between the Nterminal helix and β-wing regions which involve residues Glu12, Trp77, and Lys80 (see Figure 1) (12,15,16,39,42).…”
