Crystallization Behaviors of Composites Comprising Biodegradable Polyester and Functional Nucleation Agent

Abstract: In this study, a thorough study of the crystallization behaviors of the biodegradable polymer composites of poly(ethylene succinate) (PESu) and hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) was carried out. We found that h-BN had a significant nucleation effect on crystallization behaviors. DSC isothermal crystallization results demonstrated that the crystallization time of the PESu/h-BN composites became shorter after adding h-BN. The rate constant k values calculated from the Avrami equation were larger for the composites,… Show more

“…They experienced cold crystallization, which is a phenomenon in which crystallization along with an exothermal phase occurs when the material is heated at a temperature below its melting point but above its Tg temperature. On the curve, the peak point of the curve after the Tg phase is called Tc (Temperature of crystallization), which is the transition temperature at which crystalline structures begin to form due to heating 81 . The resulting Tc of specimens BP_10, BP_20, and BP_30 was 497.7, 495.57, and 521.40°C, respectively.…”
