Crystalline ytterbium disilicate environmental barrier coatings made by high velocity oxygen fuel spraying

Abstract: Dense environmental barrier coatings (EBCs) are an essential prerequisite to exploit the advantages offered by SiC-based fiber reinforced ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) to increase efficiency in gas turbines.
