The existence of two or more carboxylate groups in different orientations allows the construction of one-, two-or three-dimensional frameworks, which can be further reinforced by the presence of intermolecular hydrogen bonds, p-p interactions and other weak interacting forces [1][2][3][4][5]. One example of an acid that contains two carboxylic groups is H 2 edtda. Besides the two carboxylic, it also has two thio groups.
