A mixture of 1,6-bis(2-methyl-1H-benzo[d]imidazol-1-yl)hexane (34.6 mg, 0.1 mmol), phenylenediacetic acid (19.2 mg, 0.1 mmol), Cd(Ac) 2 ·2H 2 O (53.3 mg, 0.2 mmol), sodium hydroxide solution (0.2 mol/L, 1 mL) and H 2 O (10 mL) were placed in a Teflon-lined stainless steel vessel, heated to 160°C for 3 day and then cooled to room temperature. Colorless block crystals of the title compound were acquired.
