Source of materialThe mixture of 4-hydroxylpyridin (0.021 g, 0.2 mmol) and 5-bromobenzene-1,3-dioic acid (0.043 g, 0.2 mmol), was stirred in 15 mL ethanol. Then the pH value was adjusted to approx. 5.5 with 1.0 mol/L nitric acid. After stirring for 10 min in air the mixture was placed into a 25 mL Teflon-lined stainless steel autoclave under autogenous pressure, and heated at 65°C for 36 h.
