Crystal structure of 3-(furan-2-yl)-5-(4-phenylphenyl)-1H-pyrazole — methanol (1:1), C19H14N2O · CH3OH

Abstract

C 20 H 18 N 2 O 2 ,triclinic, P1 (no. 2), a =10.362(2) Å, b =13.023(2) Å, c =13.641(2) Å, a =74.455(3)°, Source of materialHydrazine monohydrate (3 ml) in ethanol (10 ml) was added dropwise to arefluxing ethanol solution (30 ml) of the 1-(furan-2-yl)-3-(4-phenylphenyl)propane-1,3-dione (2.90 .g). The solution was refluxed for 3hand solvents were removed by evaporation.The residual solid was recrystallized from dillute ethanol solution to give the title compound (yield 2.12 g, 74 %). Crystals suitable for X-ray diffraction were grown by slow evaporation of the CH 2 Cl 2 /MeOH (1:2, v/v)solutions at room temperature. Experimental detailsHa toms were placed in geometrically idealized positions and constrained to ride on their parent atoms, with d(C-H) of 0.93 to 0.97 Å,and with U iso (H) =1.2 U eq (C). All Hatoms on Natoms were found in difference Fourier and refined with U iso (H) =1.2 U eq (N). No additional disordered solvent molecules were found applying PLATON procedure. The high residual values are caused by the poor quality of the selected crystal.
