Crystal structure of 2-[1-(2-chlorophenyl)-methylidene]hydrazino-1-(3,4- dihydroxyphenyl)ethanone monohydrate, C14H11ClN2O3 · H2O

Abstract: Source of material 2-Chlorobenzaldehyde (0.1 mmol, 14.0 mg) and 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid hydrazide (0.1 mmol, 16.8 mg) were dissolved in a 95% ethanol solution (10 ml). The mixture was stirred at room temperature to give a clear colorless solution. Crystals of the title compound were formed by gradual evaporation of the solvent over a period of three days at room temperature.
