“…The fluidity demonstrated by liquid ash slag when coal ash is melted at different temperatures is referred to as the viscosity–temperature characteristics of ash slag. To guarantee the smooth discharge of slag from the gasifier, it is necessary for the slag viscosity to be between 2 and 25 Pa s at the operating temperature of the entrained-flow gasifier. If the slag viscosity falls below 2 Pa s, the liquid slag with strong fluidity will accelerate the wear of refractory bricks or water-cooled walls in the gasifier and reduce its service life. On the other hand, if the slag viscosity exceeds 25 Pa s, the slag fluidity will be poor and the slag layer will continue to accumulate and thicken, resulting in blockage of the slag outlet.…”
