Crystal Growth and Structure of the Zn0.97Cd0.03As2 Solid Solution

Abstract

Single crystals of the Zn 0.97 Cd 0.03 As 2 solid solution are prepared, and their structure is determined by x-ray diffraction. The incorporation of Cd into ZnAs 2 has no effect on its lattice parameters (to within the error of determination). Cd is shown to occupy interstitial sites in the solid solution.
