Crystal Growth and Spectroscopic Investigations of Tm3+:Li3Ba2Gd3(MoO4)8 Crystal

Abstract: Tm3+:Li3Ba2Gd3(MoO4)8 crystal has been grown by the top seeded solution growth (TSSG) method from a Li2MoO4 flux. The room temperature polarized absorption spectra, fluorescence spectra, and fluorescence decay curves of the crystal were measured. Based on the Judd-Ofelt (J-O) theory, the main spectroscopic parameters of the crystal, including the spontaneous emission probabilities, fluorescence branching ratios, and radiative lifetimes were calculated and analyzed. The broad and strong absorption bands of the … Show more

“…Most of the studies which were carried on all along the past few years were specifically focused on the characterization of the luminescence properties of the single crystals of Li 3 Ba 2 Gd 3 (MoO 4 ) 8 and Li 3 Ba 2 Gd 3 (MoO 4 ) 8 crystals doped with different lanthanide ions [17]. Recently Song et al [18] investigated the crystal structure of Li 3 Ba 2 Gd 3 (MoO 4 ) 8 :Tm 3? material which had been grown by top seeded solution growth method and characterized by room temperature polarization spectra, fluorescence spectra and fluorescence decay curve and based on Judd-Ofelt (J-O), the main spectroscopic properties of the crystal, including the spontaneous emission probabilities, fluorescence branching ratios and radiative life times were calculated and analyzed.…”
