Crystal and Molecular Structure of Dichloro(ethylenediamine)gold(III) Nitrate: [Au(NH2CH2CH2NH2)Cl2]NO3

Abstract: The gold(III) atom in [Au(NH2CH2CH2NH2) Cl2]NO3 is chelated by the ethylenediamine (en) ligand and the approximately square planar geometry is completed by two chloride atoms. Weak Au⋯O and Au⋯Cl contacts are noted above and below the square plane leading to a tetragonally distorted octahedron for the gold(III) center. Extensive charge-assisted hydrogen bonding of the type N–H⋯O leads to the formation of a 2-D array and layers are consolidated into a 3-D network via C–H⋯O and C–H⋯Cl contacts. The compound crys… Show more

“…There are relatively few examples of [Au(III)Cl 2 ] + coordinated by diamine groups in the literature. Three ethane diamine coordinated examples have been reported with chloride and nitrate counterions. Several cyclohexane diamine chloride complexes are also known. , In these complexes, Au–N distances are 2.02836(8)–2.05900(11) Å. The structure of 3 (Figure ) features the ligand ptpd with an Au(III)Cl 2 + group coordinated by the bidentate diamino group.…”

“…Apart from bacteriocins, LAB may produce a variety of antimicrobial compounds, including organic acids, diacetyl, carbon dioxide, hydrogen peroxide, and organic antimicrobial compounds with low molecular mass ( Favaro and Todorov, 2017 ). Particular low-molecular metabolites such as D-phenyllactic and 4-hydroxy-phenyllactic acids, 3-hydroxylated fatty acids and cyclic dipeptides show strong antifungal activity and are therefore of special interest for application in food biopreservation ( Valerio et al, 2004 ; Svanström et al, 2013 ; Chen et al, 2016 ; Leyva Salas et al, 2018 ).…”
