Crystal and Molecular Structure of Aquatriphenyltin 2-(3-Formyl-4-Hydroxyphenylazo)benzoate

Abstract: The crystal structure of the title compound, {Ph3Sn[C>2CC6H4(N=N(C6H3-4-OH-5-CHO))-o]OH2}, reveals the carboxylate group to coordinate the tin atom via one oxygen atom only [Sn-0 2.161(5) A], The tin atom is also coordinated by a water molecule [Sn-O 2.527(5) Ä] and exists in a trigonal bipyramidal geometry with the three phenyl groups in equatorial positions; the O-Sn-O axial angle is 176.3(2)°. The lattice is stabilised by Η-bonding contacts as well as charge-transfer interactions. Introduction. The chemistr… Show more

“…Steady-state ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) absorption spectra for 1-10 were recorded at ambient temperature in DMSO (spectroscopy grade, Merck) solutions (concentration: $10 −5 M) on a PerkinElmer Lambda25 absorption spectrophotometer ( Figure S41). [64] (0.30 g, 1.11 mmol) in hot absolute ethanol (30 ml) was added under stirring to a solution of cyclopropylamine (0.06 g, 1.11 mmol) in the same solvent (30 ml). The reaction mixture was heated to reflux for 5 h, whereupon the solution turned red.…”
