“…As well as, sugars prevent cooling damage of sperm by affecting the pattern of ice-crystal formation and the width of the channels of unfrozen extender (Nicolajsen and Hvidt, 1994) and reduce the salt concentration of the extender that can reduce the injury due to the extender solution effects. Recent studies were indicated that spermatozoa motility depends greatly on the energy source in an extender in the form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which is produced from metabolism, and therefore requires a constant supply for cell function and survival (Dorado et al, 2019). This study result finding broadly supports the work of other studies in this area linking motility with source of energy and production of ATP which our result showed increased significantly in the general and progressive motility in addition of aqueoussemen extender as showed in Figure (1 and 2).…”

“…As expected, post-thawed motility parameters and the FI of motility were significantly higher when using the Botucrio extender (p < 0.05). This extender contains amino acids, carbohydrates, and N-methylformamide, which improve sperm post-thawed motility (20,22,50,54). Further studies are necessary to verify if changes in component concentrations (glycerol and egg yolk) and new additives (amides, carbohydrates and amino acids) on HM-0 formulation improves the freezability index (viability and sperm motility) of donkey sperm using a cryopreservation extender based on Trisglycerol-egg yolk.…”

“…Hussain et al, J. Dorado et al, C.-H. Liu et al, and A. Ghaniei et al have confirmed that using honey as an extender in cryopreservation improved the semen quality and acted as natural antibiotics against pathogenic bacteria. Moreover, it resolved many challenges, such as freezing solution toxicity, pH irregularity, ROS, energy source, damage of sperm membrane, and cryoshock preservatives [149][150][151][152].…”
