Abstract: <p>The Macquarie Ridge Complex (MRC) constitutes the boundary between the Indo-Australian and Pacific plates in the southwest Pacific Ocean. It accommodates the world’s most potent sub-marine earthquakes that are not associated with ongoing subduction.
