“…In the case of tourists' behaviors, motives may depend on the destination visited (Andriotis, 2011;Andriotis, Agiomirgianakis, & Mihiotis, 2007;Monterrubio & Andriotis, 2014). Because tourists have no firsthand knowledge about a destination they have never visited before, their choice usually depends on symbolic information acquired either from the mass media or from friends and relatives (Andriotis & Agiomirgianakis, 2010;Heung, Qu, & Chu, 2001, p. 260;Mok & Armstrong, 1996). Thus, tourists may have specific motivations prior to their holidays, and these motivations can be the starting points that launch the decision to visit a destination, nudist or not.…”

“…This recalls the observation of Sheehan and Ritchie (2005), who argue that having a wide range of stakeholders entangled in core-periphery relationships might threaten the ability to achieve the destination's tourism goal. The issue of destination management was also highlighted in the work of Andriotis (2010) on the Mediterranean and Aegean islands. This study revealed that when tourism development decisions are made from the top down, when 'experts' make decisions, conflicts between stakeholder groups can arise.…”

“…This unique feature of cruising has been found to influence post-cruise satisfaction (Andriotis & Agiomirgianakis, 2010) and may also have pre-cruise implications for potential passengers and cruise destinations. The short time in each port may influence the cruise travellers' destination choice.…”

“…Teye and Paris (2011) found that passengers would remain closer to the ship in less developed ports but travel further from the ship in more developed ports. Andriotis and Agiomirgianakis (2010) also noted that participants indicated that they did not have sufficient time in port to experience all the activities that they desired.…”
