Crown Ether Active Template Synthesis of Rotaxanes**

Abstract: Rotaxanes are interlocked molecules that consist of a macrocycle encircling a stoppered thread. The ability to control relative component positions makes rotaxanes ideal building blocks for constructing functional and responsive molecular machines.
