Crosstalk Among YAP, LncRNA, and Tumor-Associated Macrophages in Tumorigenesis Development

Abstract: Long non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), which do not encode proteins, regulate cell proliferation, tumor angiogenesis, and metastasis and are closely associated with the development, progression, and metastasis of many cancers. Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) in the tumor microenvironment play an important role in cancer progression. The Hippo signaling pathway regulates cell proliferation and apoptosis, maintains tissue and organ size, and homeostasis of the internal environment of organisms. Abnormal expression o… Show more

“…Furthermore, the interaction between B4GALT1-AS1 and miR-144-3p regulated ZEB1 expression and increased the progression and tumorigenesis of the NSCLC cell line [29]. Further studies highlighted that the function of B4GALT1-AS1 was associated, at least partly, with two key proteins, HuR and YAP, which have been identi ed to provide roles in the development of cancers [30]. YAP-associated protein (YAP) is a prolin -rich phosphoprotein encoded by the yap1 gene [31] and is a member of the hippo pathway.…”

“…Yes‐associated protein (YAP), lncRNA, and TAM are closely related, and their individuality and interaction are significantly meaningful for tumorigenesis, metastasis, treatment, and prognosis 139 . Nogo‐B is widely expressed in most tissues and is the only subtype of the family expressed in the liver.…”

“…Upon activation, MST1/2 kinase is phosphorylated and forms a complex with SAV1 to phosphorylate LATS1/2, which in turn phosphorylates the transcriptional co-activator YAP. The phosphorated YAP binds to the 14-3-3 proteins and is retained in the cytoplasm or is degraded by the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway [ 49 ]. In the absence of an active Hippo signaling pathway, unphosphorylated Yap and Taz enter the nucleus, interact with the transcription factors, and stimulate the expression of genes involved in proliferation and anti-apoptotic processes.…”
