Cross sections forπ+pn+kπ0(

Abstract: This paper presents the results o f a study o f the dominant neutral final states from a p interactions. T h e data were obtained in an experiment performed at the Brookhaven National Laboratory Alternating Gradient Synchrotron, using a set o f steel-plate optical spark chambers surrounding a liquid-hydrogen target. W e present differential and total cross sections for the reactions (1) a p -n +ao and (2) a-p -n + TJO (TJO-27) and total cross sections for the reactions (3) a p -n + k a o ( k = 2, 3, 4, and 5 )… Show more

“…The inelastic π − p scattering process leading to the nη final state was reported from several experiments [25][26][27][28] and [29,30]. Above 1.8 GeV, large discrepancies between the data [27,30] show up. The data from [29] cover extreme backward angles and are partly incompatible with all other results.…”

“…The data are taken from Refs. [39,41,42,49,50,51,52]. meson-exchange model [25] includes only a few low-mass resonances and, consequently, does not agree with the total charge exchange cross sections above 1.5 GeV, cf.…”

“…Differential cross section were reported in [18,19,185,186,187,188]; however there are large discrepancies between different data sets at least above 1800 MeV. [19] and full squares the data from [18].…”
