“…The capture of a neutron by lithium-7 leads to the appearance of the lithium-8 isotope, which almost instantly turns into the beryllium-8 isotope as a result of beta minus decay. The latter also decays almost instantly into two α-particles with a total energy of 17.34 MeV [ 10 ].
