Cross-polarization discrimination of MIMO antenna configuration at a mobile station in indoor propagation environment

This paper takes an Alpha-stable distribution as the noise model to solve the parameter estimation problem of bistatic multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar system in the impulsive noise environment. For a moving target, its echo often contains a time-varying Doppler frequency. Furthermore, the echo signal may be corrupted by a non-Gaussian noise. It causes the conventional algorithms and signal models degenerating severely in this case. Thus, this paper proposes a new signal model and a novel method for parameter estimation in bistatic MIMO radar system in the impulsive noise environment. It combines the fractional lower-order statistics (FLOS) and fractional power spectrum density (FPSD), for suppressing the impulse noise and estimating parameters of the target in fractional Fourier transform domain. Firstly, a new signal array model is constructed based on the α-stable distribution model. Secondly, Doppler parameters are jointly estimated by peak searching of the FLOS-FPSD. Furthermore, two modified algorithms are proposed for the estimation of direction-of-departure and direction-of-arrival (DOA), including the fractional power spectrum density based on MUSIC algorithm (FLOS-FPSD-MUSIC) and the fractional lower-order ambiguity Circuits Syst Signal Process function based on ESPRIT algorithm (FLOS-FPSD-ESPRIT). Simulation results are presented to verity the effectiveness of the proposed method.

This paper proposes a new wideband signal model and a novel method in wideband bistatic MIMO radar system. Firstly, a new signal array model is proposed. Secondly, Doppler stretch and time delay are jointly estimated by searching the optimal rotation angle to meet concentrated-energy of the fractional correlation function. Furthermore, two algorithms are presented for the estimation of DODs and DOAs, including based on MUSIC algorithm and ESPRIT algorithm. Simulation results are presented to verity the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Joint Estimation of Doppler and Multipath Time Delay of Wideband Echoes for LFM Pulse Radar Based on Fractional Correlation

A new method based on fractional correlation theory for estimating the Doppler and multipath time delay of the wideband echoes for LFM pulse radar by only one pulse signal is presented. First, the Doppler is estimated by energy cumulation of multipath component based on fractional correlation transform. Then, an order-reduced signal is reconstructed combining the Doppler with the prior knowledge of the transmitted signal, and the echoes signal is converted to many single-frequency signals. Finally, the multipath time delay is obtained by the dechirping method. The method is adapted for low SNR noise, can restrain the affection of the cross-items, and has a high time-delay estimation resolution. Some computer simulations are given in this paper and the results show that the new method is valid.
