Crizotinib

Abstract

Nausea, vomiting and drug-induced interstitial lung disease: case reportAn 85-year-old woman developed nausea, vomiting and drug-induced interstitial lung disease during treatment with crizotinib for ROS1-rearranged non-small cell lung cancer.The woman referred to the hospital for examination of a mass in the right upper lobe. She had a history of hypertension and dyslipidaemia. Her family history included gastric cancer. Her further evaluations showed ROS1-rearranged non-small cell lung cancer. Thus, she started receiving crizotinib [route not stated] 250mg twice every day that led to partial response. However, she experienced grade 1 nausea and vomiting secondary to crizotinib on day 8 of the crizotinib therapy. Subsequently, the nausea and vomiting worsened to grade 2.Thus, the dose of crizotinib decreased to 250 mg/day and the woman underwent CT scan of the chest on day 115 that showed drug-induced interstitial lung disease caused by crizotinib therapy. Hence, crizotinib was stopped and she was treated with prednisolone. Subsequently, prednisolone was tapered and her interstitial lung disease responded well to prednisolone. Fifteen day after discontinuation of crizotinib, she started receiving entrectinib that led to marginal response.
