Background: Hospital Information System (HIS) is implemented to provide high-quality patient care. The aim of this study is to identify significant dimensional factors that influence the hospital decision in adopting the HIS. Methods: This study designs the initial integrated model by taking the three main dimensions in adopting HIS technology. Accordingly, DEMATEL was utilized to test the strength of interdependencies among the dimensions and variables. Then ANP approach is adapted to determining how the factors are weighted and prioritized by professionals and main users working in the Iranian public hospitals, involved with the HIS system. Results: The results indicated that "Perceived Technical Competence" is a key factor in the Human dimension. The respondents also believed that "Relative Advantage," "Compatibility" and "Security Concern" of Technology dimension should be further assessed in relation to other factors. With respect to Organization dimension, "Top Management Support" and "Vendor Support" are considered more important than others. Conclusion: Applying the TOE and HOT-fit models as the pillar of our developed model with significant findings add to the growing literature on the factors associated with the adoption of HIS and also shed some light for managers of public hospitals in Iran to successfully adopt the HIS.

Cloud Computing is an evolving information technology paradigm that impacts many sectors in many countries. Although Cloud Computing is an emerging technology there is little in the literature concerning its application in the Saudi healthcare sector. This paper examines and identifies the factors that will influence the adoption of Cloud Computing in Saudi healthcare organisations. The study integrates the TOE (Technology-Organization-Environment) framework with the Information System Strategic Triangle (IS Triangle) and the HOT-fit (Human-OrganizationTechnology) model to provide a holistic evaluation of the determinants of Cloud Computing adoption in healthcare organisations. Of the five perspectives examined in this study, the Business perspective was found to be the most important followed by the Technology, Organisational and Environmental perspectives and finally the Human perspective. The findings of the study showed that the five most important factors influencing the adoption of Cloud Computing in this context are soft financial analysis, relative advantage, hard financial analysis, attitude toward change and pressure from partners in the business ecosystem. This study identifies the critical factors for both practitioners and academics that influence Cloud Computing adoption decision-making in Saudi healthcare.

Previous solutions to providing better health care included reforms that focus on downsizing, privatization, performance measurements, competition in service delivery, and citizen participation. 2 All these approaches have one thing in common: a strong emphasis on accountability in improving health care performance.Health care accountability has several purposes. It helps to reduce fraud and abuse, 2 which is estimated at $60 billion per year by the National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association. 3 It also assists in ensuring compliance with procedures and standards as well as revealing gaps requiring policy attention. 2 Also, accountability contributes to improving performance and learning (such as generating a system-wide perspective on health sector reforms). 2 Hospitals play the most extensive role in the US health care industry, accounting roughly for a third of health care expenditures. 4 Being on the forefront of medical development and innovation, US hospitals (regardless of ownership) are at the forefront of improving public health. 5 When reviewing the literature on hospital accountability, we find a rather narrow focus of studies, mostly on health care delivery outcomes, such as readmission rates 6,7 and quality-of-care. 8 Some studies move beyond health care delivery outcomes and look at hospital financial outcomes 9 in terms of hospital accountability. Others focus on one particular type of hospital-nonprofit hospitals-while researching accountability practices. 10-12 While these are all important topics, they rarely address how hospitals meet the demands of a broader group of stakeholders-the public at large (patients, families, community members, etc.). For many, an organizational website is a first and most trusted resource they turn to when in need of information about a hospital. Online accountability (OA) practices are how hospitals address these expectations. OA is one of the critical dimensions of overall accountability efforts in hospitals, and not much research is available on this subject. Thus, hospital OA is a topic of this research paper.The existing empirical evidence sheds light on variations in online accountability practices (OAP) within the nonprofit sector 13-17 but not within health care organizations.
