Crimean Tatar Cavalry Troops in the Russian Army 1806-1920

Abstract: the Russian administration produced various policies to be permanent in the region. One of these practices was to establish cavalry units of Crimean Tatar soldiers using mirzas. These regiments were established, closed and re-established several times between 1784 and 1920 under different names, different numbers and for different tasks.
