Crime and Punishment in the U nited S tates

Abstract: Crime and punishment in the United States has its origins in practices of the European settlers who colonized America centuries ago. Although there is a wide range of crimes that occur in the United States and there are varied forms of punishment for them, perhaps no punishment is more controversial than the death penalty. Hence the current entry provides a brief review of the most recent advancements in death penalty research in the United States.
