Abstract:Starch, an insoluble natural polymer, can be spread into a Langmuir monolayer on the surface of water as amylodextrin by solubilization, where it forms a spherical single‐particle layer at the air–water interface. In this study, we fabricated a two‐dimensional mixed monolayer from soluble starch and organo‐modified montmorillonite and attempted to control its morphology by varying the mixing ratio. The behavior of the organo‐modified montmorillonite was dependent on the spreading solvent and miniaturization wa… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
