Trends in the automotive industry confirm that the demand for testing of embedded systems, especially advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), will grow dramatically in the near future. This paper proposes a new solution that automates the detection of software defects in embedded systems. The solution consists of a data-driven sampling algorithm to intelligently sample the testing space by sequentially generating test cases. Moreover, it segregates unique defects from each other and identifies the signals that trigger each. The results are compared against other automated methods for defect identification and analysis, and it is found that this novel solution is able to identify defects more rapidly. In addition, it correctly separates defects and reliably reproduces each distinct defect.

There are many challenges in the developing process of Electronics Control Unit (ECU) in automotive industries. In order to cut the cost and shorten the development time of ECU, V-cycle is applied commonly. ECUs applied in fuel cell vehicles meet the same challenges as well. To obtain safer, more reliable and effective controllers of fuel cell engines with lower cost, the ECU rapid prototype is used in many applications. This paper is contributed to introducing one of the powerful platforms for ECU rapid prototype development-the ASCET-MD, INTECRIO software as well as ES1000 hardware, and its application case on a 7kW PEM fuel cell engine. The proposed controller has been modeled with ASCET-MD.

Abstract-Electronic Control Units (ECUs) are widely used to improve the comfort and reliability of vehicles. It has become the fundamental building block of any automotive subsystem and is interfaced with electro mechanics counterpart. To meet the system wide requirements, these ECUs are interconnected using the communication infrastructure. Although the communication infrastructure in terms of, predominantly, the CAN based vehicle network took its birth to enable ECUs to work in a coordinated manner in order to support system wide requirements, during the past decade, this infrastructure was also viewed as a potential means to incorporate extensibility in terms of addition of newer ECUs which are built for implementing additional requirements. With this paradigm, the number of ECUs started growing in a steep manner, uncontrolled and as a result, today, it is not hard to see a high segment automotive housing ECUs as large as 75-80. Hence, load balancing mechanisms are needed to ease ECU integration and for efficient utilization of CPU power in ECUs. In this paper, we explain the mathematical approach for load balancing across ECUs on the basis of CPU utilization.
